Walking around town the other day, I found myself in a predicament. I had ventured out of the house without a single credit card in my wallet. Thankfully, I had recently taken a trip to an ATM, so I wasn’t walking around completely penniless.
It was then that I started to think: you know, as much of a liability as credit cards are, I’d be completely lost without them. OK, maybe not lost, but definitely inconvenienced at the very least. At that moment I had an epiphany; if this is not a major selling point for affiliate marketers to present to their audience, I don’t know what is.
Taking The Good with The Bad
Sure, credit cards get a bad rap because of their sometimes high APR rates and other ‘convenience fees’, but the benefits outweigh the risks. For one, we don’t have to run out to the post office to make sure all our bills are paid on time. Thanks to credit cards, I can simply go to my local electric company provider’s web page and pay this month’s bill on the spot.
The same goes for any other service I may be using. For someone without a credit card, these are extra errands they have to take into consideration when planning out their day. Credit cards, along with the Internet, allow people to take care of business in minutes instead of hours. Gotta love technology!
Another good thing about credit cards is that if your wallet or purse is stolen, all you basically have to do is call your credit card company and that takes care of that headache. Yes, you will have to wait to receive new cards, but in the grand scheme of things, you will usually come out on top.
My grandmother had her purse stolen once and it was a real nightmare for her, because she didn’t own any credit cards. She would carry cash everywhere she went, and because she didn’t like going to ATMs she carried around $350 with her all the time. Now, to some people that may not be a lot of money but if you’re living on a fixed income, to have that money simply disappear was a real burden.
Showing Your Audience The Way
Financially responsible individuals can rely on credit cards as small, interest-free loans. I can almost hear some of you gasp as you were halfway done with the last sentence, so before you start bringing out the pitchforks and torches, let me explain.
Let’s say that Average Joe needs to fix his vehicle or, for whatever reason, that big ticket purchase simply cannot wait. Well, Joe can use his credit card to cover these expenses as long as he remembers to pay the entire amount at the end of the month or whenever their payment cycles closes. Failing to do so will of course result in accrued interest rate fees.
If Joe doesn’t have a credit card, his only options for a loan would be a payday loan or his local bank and both of those come with high fees that can’t be avoided. These everyday emergencies are difficult to deal with without some financial help and credit cards provide this security blanket for your online audience.
Making It Work For You
These are only a few examples of how credit cards make our lives easier and as good as ‘the good old days’ may have been, they don’t compare to what credit cards help us accomplish today (but don’t say that to Nana).
The good news for you is that there are countless individuals who can benefit from owning a credit card, and being the savvy affiliate marketer that you are, I don’t need to tell you how to turn that to your favor. There are plenty of credit card offers you can market to first time applicants, so do your homework and help get those folks caught up with us in the 21st century.
